Springfield Symphony’s rendition of ‘The Nutcracker’ is En Pointe this holiday season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony presents its annual holiday pops concert, En Pointe, on Saturday, December 11th at 7:30 pm. The orchestra will be led by music director and conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett, and will feature holiday favorites as well as musical selections from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker with St. Louis Ballet guest dancers Rebecca Cornett as Sugar Plum and Michael Burke as Cavalier. These performances will take place at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.

“It’s hard to even mention dancing at Christmas without thinking first and foremost of The Nutcracker,” said Music Director and Conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett. “When we were planning our ‘Dance Mix’ holiday concert, I knew I wanted to feature Tchaikovsky’s beautiful and beloved score. I also knew I wanted this to be a concert where we saw the dancing along with the music, so we are bringing in two fantastic soloists, Michael Burke and Rebecca Cornett, from the St. Louis Ballet to perform a few of the big dance duets with the orchestra. It’ll be a great night of holiday favorites, gorgeous dancing, and we get to bring back one of my favorite traditions of the holiday concert—the audience sing-along!”

Single Tickets are $10 – $45 with discounts available for students and seniors.
