Springfield Symphony presents an evening of ballet love stories with local university choirs

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony (SSO) continues its “Dance Mix” season with the classical concert Pas de Deux on Saturday, February 5th at 7:30 p.m.  The program will present Brahms’ Gesang der Parzen, Ravel’s Daphnis and Chloe, and the Springfield premiere of American composer Amy Beach’s Bal Masque featuring talented local university choirs. These performances will take place at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.

“I have been looking forward to this concert all year,” said Music Director and Conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett. “In fact, I've been looking forward to playing Daphnis and Chloe for many years, and I'm thrilled that we're finally going to perform it for our audience. This is a huge performance - Ravel calls for a massive orchestra and a huge choir, Daphnis [and Chloe] is a gorgeous piece full of lush melodies and spectacular sounds, and Bal Masque by Amy Beach will open our concert.  I think people will really love it."

Single Tickets are $10 - $45 with discounts available for students and seniors. Single Tickets will be available at the Hammons Hall box office by calling (417) 836-7678 or visiting www.hammonshall.com.

Per the Springfield Symphony Board of Directors, masks will be mandatory for Springfield Symphony staff, patrons, and musicians in Hammons Hall for our Pas de Deux concert.
