Executive Director

Responsible for the day to day operations of the Springfield Symphony; primarily for planning organizational and operational needs of the business, organizing the resources to carry out those needs, directing the activities of the administrative staff and volunteers in accomplishing those needs and controlling the use of fiscal and human resources to ensure that the mission statement of the organization is achieved at all times.

Jennifer Cotner-Jones joined the Springfield Symphony Orchestra in April 2019 as Executive Director. Jennifer comes to SSO with over 20 years of non-profit experience. Her passion for serving others has provided her with vast experiences ranging from development, event planning, volunteer recruitment, marketing, and donor relations. Jennifer’s love of music and community brought her to the Springfield Symphony. In her down time, Jennifer enjoys watching Sci-Fi movies, helping her daughter in scholastic hobbies and interests, and playing in her church’s bell choir.

Amanda Bullock

Executive Assistant

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of all office, clerical and association activities. This includes accurate cash deposit records, reconciling deposits with Finance Manager, taking all season ticket orders, entering sponsorship and advertising contracts, all billing, sending thank you letters for fund drive, sponsorships and advertising pledges. Amanda also acts as the liaison between Hammons Hall box office and the Symphony office. Her main objective for the organization is to provide excellent customer service to its sponsors and patrons.

Amanda Bullock joined the Springfield Symphony in June 2023 as the Executive Assistant. Amanda earned her BA from College of the Ozarks in 2002 and has 20 plus years of Administrative and Executive Assistant experience. Amanda loves to read, hike, and travel.

Development & Major Gifts Manager

Responsible for developing, managing, implementing and evaluating the overall fund raising programs of the Springfield Symphony. The development manager cultivates sponsorship partners, capital endowment, planned giving and fundraising event initiatives with benefits that help to build lasting relationships with individual and corporate donors providing a variety of gifts and in-kind partnerships to support the Symphony.

Tery O’Shell has joined the Springfield Symphony Orchestra as the Development Manager.  Previously she held the position of Executive Director of Sculpture Walk Springfield and VP of Development at the Discovery Center.  Originally from Alabama, Tery spent the majority of her career in Birmingham, Alabama.  Professionally, she began her career in marketing and advertising with clients including the Birmingham Museum of Art and Opera Birmingham.  Tery decided to make a commitment to the mission of nonprofits and has over 20 years experience as Director of Development for several organizations including the Birmingham International Center, the Birmingham Zoo and The Arc of Shelby County.  She is a graduate of Leadership Shelby County and Leadership Springfield’s Access Class, as well Standard for Excellence training.  She is currently a member of P.E.O. She is a lover of all forms of art and believes that “art connects people.”   Tery and her husband, Mike, moved to Springfield in 2018 and are proud to call it home.

Operations Manager

The responsibility of the Operations Manager includes all duties of the personnel manager and librarian, as well as to act as the liaison between management and the musicians through the hiring of substitute and extra musicians; through the coordination of auditions; through accurate record keeping and through the interpretation and communication of all personnel related activities.

Aleksis Zarins is a musician originally from Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Parkview High School and moved to New York City to explore his passions in music and travel. After eight years of performing with various Broadway musical productions, he returned home to finish his college education at Missouri State University and share his love of music with the communities of Southwest Missouri. He is currently the operations manager at the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and performs with numerous artistic organizations in the Springfield/Branson area. In his free time, Aleksis loves to explore art in nature and is thankful to be in an area rich with such opportunities. He is devoted to his darling Amy and in pursuing a future full of music performance and education in the Springfield metro area.

Marketing Manager

Responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating marketing campaigns for orchestra and special events, and maximizing the visibility of the orchestra, consistent with SSO policies and long-range goals.

Kaitlyn Pack is the Springfield Symphony Orchestra Marketing Manager. Kaitlyn has a BA of Business in Marketing from Kennesaw State University and completed the Joel A. Katz Music and Entertainment Business certificate program while attending. During her time in college, Kaitlyn completed a marketing internship with Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center where she researched and created the layout and RFP for their website redesign. She also completed an internship with The Georgia Ballet where she continued to work for over 8 years with roles such as Administrative Manager and Marketing and Box Office Manager. After a brief break from the arts non-profit world she came back to work as the Operations Manager at Springfield Ballet until she moved to Springfield Symphony Orchestra in April of 2023. Kaitlyn enjoys art in all its forms and enjoys spending time with her husband, four cats, and dog.

Audrey-Yeo
Audrey Yeo
Community Outreach & Development Manager

Hailing from Singapore, Audrey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Newcastle, Australia.  She is the Community Outreach and Development Manager at the Springfield Symphony Orchestra and is responsible for the Seniors at the Symphony, Musgrave Community Balcony Program, Spooky Symphony and the Young People’s Concert. Apart from reaching out to the various communities, Audrey is also involved with sponsorships for the symphony.  In Singapore, Audrey started her career in trade media sales with one of Singapore’s public-listed trade publishing companies. During her tenure with the company, she was responsible for the company’s flagship publication – Asia Pacific Food Industry and at the same time also launched the trade publication Industrial Automation Asia.  She was also responsible for media rep appointments worldwide.  Audrey further launched two other trade publications for the Asia Pacific region, including a Chinese Edition publication that is mainly circulated in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.  Having many years of publishing experience, Audrey moved on to an advertising, marketing, and public relations agency .  She held the position of Business Director under one of the WPP Group of companies, OgilvyAction Sports & Entertainment, providing sponsorship consultancy to rights holders, working with various stakeholders within the Ogilvy Group, rolling out sponsorship activation plans as well as measuring sponsorship ROIs. Some of the sponsorship projects that she worked on were Singapore’s national reading campaign, The Contender Asia reality TV show, F1, etc.  Audrey was later transferred within the group as Account Director, servicing one of the group’s key customers, Dell Computers. Before a family relocation to Shanghai, China, Audrey worked with the Singapore Olympic Games Organizing Committee as Senior Manager, responsible for key account acquisition for  Singapore Youth Olympic Games.  In China, she was a homestay mother and volunteered at Heart to Heart, which is a special fund of Ren De Foundation. A Shanghai based organization,  Heart to Heart provides corrective surgery for Chinese children from all over China with congenital heart disease (CHD) whose parents are unable to afford the surgery. At the same time, she was  the Vice President of Membership with the Shanghai American Club.  Audrey had a family relocation to Springfield, MO about 2.5 years ago and her last job was with Corwin Automotive. She is effectively bilingual in both English and Chinese Languages and also plays the piano and violin.

Hallie Schulz
Event Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating event materials, volunteer recruitment and lead, assisting at Symphony concerts and events, and working with other staff members on tasks such as office administrative duties, fundraising, public relations, marketing, data entry, and various projects.
Hallie graduated from Missouri State University in December 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in General Business and a minor in marketing. During her final semester in college, she passionately served as an intern for our organization. She gained experience helping in various different roles and working on several different projects. The Springfield Symphony Orchestra hired her on as our Events Coordinator in January 2024. Prior to this position, she worked as a camp counselor at several different day camps and overnight camps as well as being a Cashier Lead at Lowe’s and a Front Desk Customer Service Associate at a local community center. In her free time, she enjoys creating art, reading, doing anything outdoors, and all things Disney.
