Springfield Symphony serves up sweet, musical “Christmas Cookies” this holiday season
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony presents its annual holiday pops concert, Christmas Cookies, on Saturday, December 5 at 3:00 pm and 7:30 pm. The orchestra will be led by music director/conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett, and will feature musical holiday classics Sleigh Ride, Silent Night, Winter Wonderland, and more! These performances will take place at Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.
“In a year where everything is anything but normal, I feel that it is very important for us to come together and hear music that is familiar, warm, and joyful at this holiday season,” said Music Director and Conductor Kyle Wiley Pickett. “Each year I program music at the holidays that reminds us of our time with friends and family and makes us feel good. I often say that my favorite aspect of playing Christmas music is that this is the one time of year when all of us, from three-year-olds to 90-year-olds, listen to and love the same music. We all hum these songs to ourselves as we shop for gifts, decorate our homes, and bake cookies and goodies for the holidays. We hope people will join us to celebrate the wonder of this season.”
Single tickets are currently on sale online at www.springfieldmosymphony.org/tickets for the 3:00 pm performance only. The 7:30 pm performance of Christmas Cookies is reserved for season ticket holders and livestream access only. Livestream tickets start at $12 per household and in-person single tickets are $30 per ticket with limited availability. Season tickets are available for the matinee performances. The Christmas Cookies concert is sponsored by Reliable Superstore (Presenting Sponsor), Don Wessel Honda (Presenting Holiday Sponsor), Hiland Dairy, Digital Lunchbox, KY3, and 105.9FM KGBX.
